I have actually planted seeds in my salad table which has been and intention of mine to have and use for years now, and now I will find out if it works. We transplanted the puny rhubarb out to the parking strip, in a planter with a lot of compost and worm castings, so If I water it, it should be happier and then eventually grow. I am looking for somewhere to grow some sugar peas, and I just bought some cilantro seeds... I may have some actual homegrown stuff this year!!
Alisonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01994300004330705947noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-44598359965018553.post-39787328162612246052015-03-19T10:04:42.103-07:002015-03-19T10:04:42.103-07:00Yay! Then I started cautiously assessing 1) what we need to do differently this year, 2) weed threat-level (new, known, etc), and 3) which invasive shrub gets the axe this year. Meanwhile, Dave has already pruned the roses, turned the garden, and planted some early greens & onions.
Pretty sure I'm still hibernating & tired of people trying to pull me out of my burrow.Casey Colehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01583602452548800789noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-44598359965018553.post-81754022318362538122015-02-25T13:01:02.357-08:002015-02-25T13:01:02.357-08:00He's stunning. One of my favorite sights is Water in any of its incarnations and here your silhouetted pine trees add such interest in the fore- and back-grounds.

Any day in the woods that includes the smell of pine mingling with damp forest floor is a good day, mushrooms or not. It's only a 30-minute drive from home to enormous redwoods that demand a measure of respect for their sheer longevity alone, not to mention their immensity. Silence falls as awe overtakes me and the reverential feeling I get is unmatched in any other setting.

Having never depended on wood stove for warmth I look forward to your promised post about yours and how it plays in your warmth-scheme for the upcoming cold season. I sit atop a small space heater and use a natural gas wall heater when the whole room ( 140 sq ft only) needs warming.

Also anticipating the "cutting wood" pics of Chance. Nothing like a real man working for his muscles instead of the gym-buffed types that appeal to so many. I'll take a true solid forearm any day.

So good to see you back; thanks for sharing.Lynda Halliger Otvos (Lynda M O)https://www.blogger.com/profile/08938791116446859160noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-44598359965018553.post-62362574130159197042014-10-23T22:38:06.434-07:002014-10-23T22:38:06.434-07:00Lullaby, go to sleep, hear the prairie wind howlin...Lullaby, go to sleep, hear the prairie wind howling.
